WHAT IS AN INDUSTRIAL TECHNICAL CENTRE?
These centres were created by the French law of 22 July 1948. They are public-interest organisations with a public service role. Since 2004, they have been governed by the French research code and provide industry with the resources and skills to improve competitiveness. Industrial technical centres are major contributors to technology transfer from research to industry.
To date, 18 such centres exist in France for a range of industrial sectors. They are funded by taxation paid by industrial firms in the relevant sector and earn revenue from services delivered to business customers from all industrial sectors.
